NetEnt Live Blackjack

Net Entertainment, usually shortened to NetEnt, is a Swedish casino software developer founded in in 1996. In 2013, they decided to move into the Live Casino arena.

They swiftly became a major player in the market and they now provide live casino platforms to over 100 online casinos. They also employ 1000 people the world over, from Sweden to Malta, Ukraine and the USA.

For their live blackjack games, NetEnt opted to use green-screen technology, instead of building a full live casino studio. This allows them to utilise extremely fancy and classy backgrounds, giving a unique feel when compared to their rival Evolution’s setup.

Some players may find this more immersive and involving, where others may find the graphics distracting and unrealistic. It really depends on your point of view, but at least you can say NetEnt have tried something different.

No matter how you feel about green screen technology, NetEnt have certainly used the technology to the full and created a desirable space for themselves in the live blackjack market. With flagship live blackjack titles such as the unique Beyond Live Experience and their innovative Common Draw Blackjack tables, you can see why NetEnt are among the most popular live casino developers in the game.

Blackjack Tables From NetEnt

NetEnt standard blackjack is played with a shoe of 6 decks and offers two to three pay-outs on a blackjack. NetEnt offers two side bets on their standard blackjack, but they leave it up to individual casinos which ones to offer. The two available are perfect pairs and double jack. Perfect pairs are paid out on mixed (5:1), same colour (10:1) and perfect pairs at 30:1. Double jacks pays out 5:1 if your first card pulled is a jack, and 10:1 if the second is also a jack.

NetEnt does not offer a live blackjack lobby as such. Instead, a mini lobby on a reel is opened above the game interface and can be found in the options menu on the side of the screen. This may be faster for the majority of players, but it can also place strain on slower computers or devices.

The betting interface was up to live casino standards but wasn’t particularly innovative. The green screen backgrounds looked good to us but might not be to everyone’s taste. Where NetEnt’s blackjack offering shines though, is in their trump card offering of Unlimited Common Draw Blackjack. This unique title allows an unlimited number of players to play at once, all with control over their own play.

Thus, NetEnt have eliminated the need to wait for a blackjack seat at peak times, which can often be an annoyance at many online casinos. For more info on these check out our unlimited blackjack feature!

House Rules

The main house rules of NetEnt blackjack tables, can be summed up as follows:

  • Dealer must stand on a 17
  • Dealer must hit up to 16
  • Players can only hit once on a split ace.
  • In a split hand, ace and a jack does not count as blackjack.
  • If you have blackjack and the dealer pulls an ace, you can settle your bet for even money.
  • Players can double down after a split.

Most of these are pretty standard, except being allowed to double down after a split which not always the case with live online casinos.

NetEnt’s blackjack tables recently underwent a visual overhaul of their user interface, which mainly involved hiding a lot of the betting information and game history in a sidebar menu. This makes the gameplay area cleaner and more practical for mobile and desktop players. However, it can also make that information more difficult and fiddly to access for players using an older mobile device or one with a smaller screen.

The scrolling lobby system is also practical for mobile users. The Mr Green Live Experience was originally designed exclusively for mobile too, so you can tell NetEnt have decent experience when it comes to optimising their game designs for mobile play.

In our experience the streams were always stable and of good quality, even on older mobile devices. Whether you’re playing on the latest iPhone X or a budget Android model, NetEnt’s games will look great and play smoothly.

Native & Private Tables

The green screen option also allows NetEnt to experiment when it comes to private tables. For example, at Rizk Casino, the virtual mascot Captain Rizk pops in and out of the table background casting his watchful eye over the 21 card tables. And at Mr Green Casino, NetEnt have gone all out on the virtual studio angle with the Mr Green Beyond Live Feature.

This one-of-a-kind experience offers the chance to play in a virtual penthouse casino suite, where you can freely move about between the different tables without using a lobby system. As you can see all the tables in the background while you play at the others, the immersive attraction here is obvious.
