Live Casino News (Week 6)
11th of March 2019
Swedish and Maltese Regulators Join Forces
The Maltese Gaming Authority has become a prominent organisation in the online gaming world, as many companies find their headquarters on this Mediterranean Island.
The Swedish regulation authority, Spelinspektionen, have also been making a bullish name for themselves since the Nordic nation opened up their gambling market at the beginning of 2019.
This includes public threats to revoke licenses or issue heavy fines for operators that don’t follow the often-relatively-strict rules the Swedish market imposes.
Hopefully last week’s announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding for greater cooperation between these two of Europe’s biggest regulators, will lead to better outcomes for both players and casinos.
St Patrick’s Day Blackjack Promotions from Unibet
If you feel like you’ve got the luck of the Irish this March, Unibet might be a good place to test that out.
Every day from March the 11th until St Paddy’s Day itself on the 17th, any Unibet players can complete any two or more of the following live blackjack challenges in one 24-hour period to win the corresponding prizes. These challenges are:
- Hit 2 Blackjacks in a Row
- Win a hand with five cards or more
- Win 4 hands in a row
- Complete a 777 hand
- Receive three or more Aces in one hand
The prizes go up as follows:
- 2 x challenges = £25
- 3 x = £50
- 4 x = £100
- 5 x £500
On the special day itself, anyone who wins a hand with a score of 17 will receive an extra £10 cash on top of their usual winnings. However, you are required to have completed two of the other challenges first.
To take part, simply opt in to the offer, found on Unibet’s promotional page, and make an eligible wager of £5 or more. Moneys will be paid to the winner’s accounts within 72 hours of the prize being earned.
Usual Unibet T&Cs apply.
Pragmatic Play Launches Extended Live Casino Section
Adding to their purchase of Extreme Live Gaming last year, Pragmatic Play are now turning their attention to developing their own proprietary live casino service.
With Extreme Live’s more-than-decent blackjack offering already under their belts, the Maltese based company are looking to add roulette, baccarat and more to their portfolio.
Possibly based out of Extreme Live’s existing London studio, Pragmatic revealed some of these new options at the ICE conference in London last month.
Although, they are yet to be released to casinos or reviewers.
Alas, this means we can’t offer our expert verdict on them just yet – but keep an eye on these pages for our thoughts as soon as Pragmatic makes their new range available.
