ICONIC21 Adds Face Down Double Down to Online Blackjack Play
ICONIC21 has added a choice of card-reveal timing to selected blackjack games with the launch of Face Down Double Down. Announced on October 6, 2026, the feature allows players who double their wager to keep the additional card hidden until the dealer finishes their hand.
The release covers titles including 7-Seater Blackjack and Private Blackjack. It brings a practice associated with land-based blackjack tables into online play, giving players the option to wait until the round ends before seeing the card that completes their doubled hand.
ICONIC21 has made the feature available immediately in the selected titles. Operators can introduce it through their existing platform connections.
Two Reveal Options Follow the Initial Deal
Players encounter the new choice after receiving their initial cards. When they decide to double, they can select Double Face Up or Double Face Down. Each option requires them to double the original wager and accept one additional card.
Double Face Up reveals that card as soon as the player receives it, following the standard Double action.
Double Face Down keeps the card concealed while the dealer completes their hand. The player then sees the additional card at the end of the round.
For players familiar with doubling down, the new option adds a decision about presentation to an existing betting action. The wager increase remains the same across both choices, as does the number of additional cards the player receives.
Choosing the face-down option leaves the value of the final card unknown during the dealer’s turn. That delay forms the central element of the feature, carrying uncertainty about the doubled hand through to the conclusion of the round.
A Casino Table Practice Moves Online
ICONIC21 drew on a land-based blackjack practice in which dealers can place the card for a doubled hand face down. The online feature follows that approach by withholding the reveal until the dealer finishes.
“Blackjack players already understand when and why they double,” ICONIC21 product owner team lead Andrii Savyntsev said. “Face Down Double Down doesn’t change the mathematics or the rules of the game. What it changes is the experience. By delaying the reveal, a Face Down Double turns the doubled hand into a moment of suspense that lasts until the dealer has finished.”
The company intends the delayed reveal to create anticipation for players who choose it. Players who prefer to see their card immediately retain access to Double Face Up.
The two options let players select how the doubled hand unfolds. The face-down choice extends the wait for the additional card’s value, while the face-up choice provides that information immediately.
Selected Titles Support the New Feature
The release forms part of ICONIC21’s work on updating classic casino content through changes to the playing experience. With Face Down Double Down, the provider has focused on the way a familiar blackjack action unfolds on screen.
The feature preserves the underlying betting mechanics and gameplay. ICONIC21 says existing blackjack players should need little additional explanation because they already understand the double-down action.
For operators, the addition offers another way to present blackjack within the selected games. They can provide the delayed-reveal option while retaining the core game, and existing platform connections support integration.
The announced availability includes both 7-Seater Blackjack and Private Blackjack. Within those selected titles, players can choose the reveal timing when they take the doubling action after the initial deal.
