How We Review Live Blackjack Casinos

Choosing a live blackjack casino is easier when you know how the information on this site is put together. This page explains where our data comes from, how we rate casinos, why the list changes with your location, and how we compare the games themselves.

Where our casino data comes from

Our casino data comes from the database at LCB.org, a sister site in the same network as ours. It covers each casino’s licences, the countries it accepts, its bonuses and links to the bonus terms.

It also tells us when a casino has a problem. If LCB.org lists a casino as blacklisted or closed, we do not link to it; its review stays on the site and says why. Casinos it flags with a warning are left out of our casino lists.

How we rate casinos

Every casino review shows our rating out of 5, given by our reviewers.

Where we do not have a rating of our own yet, the casino card shows the LCB player rating instead. The card says so clearly, so you always know which rating you are looking at.

Each card also shows the sign-up bonus and whether live blackjack counts towards its wagering. We take this from the bonus terms. If live blackjack does not count, the card shows a warning.

Why you see different casinos in different countries

Our casino lists are filtered to your country. By default, you only see casinos that accept players from where you are.

A switch lets you show all casinos. Any casino that does not accept your country is marked “Not available in” followed by your country.

Our country pages, such as /uk/ and /australia/, always list casinos for that country.

How we compare live blackjack games

Our game comparison lists live blackjack games by provider. For each game it shows:

  • the rules: number of decks, whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17, blackjack payout, doubling, splitting and surrender
  • seats, whether bet behind is offered, and side bets
  • RTP and house edge

Not every game has the same amount of published information, so each row has a confidence grade:

  • AStrongthe rules and RTP come from a detailed published analysis, and they agree.
  • BFairthe figures come from a published source, but sources may differ or a figure is still being checked.
  • CLimitedlittle is published, often just an RTP figure. Treat it as a rough guide.

Rows we are still checking are marked “Being checked”. If a term is unfamiliar, our live blackjack dictionary explains it in plain English.

How we make money

We may earn a commission when you sign up to a casino through our links. This never changes our ratings.

Safer gambling

Gambling is for adults only (18+). If gambling is causing you or someone you know problems, help is available. The footer of every page links to support services such as GamCare and Gambling Therapy.

Spotting a mistake

We work hard to keep things accurate, but errors can happen. If you notice something wrong, such as a rule, a figure or a casino detail, please tell us through our contact page.
